{Scriptures for Integrity}

After studying and researching Truth ξ Lies from a worldly/definition standpoint I received a great deal of helpful information to further form an understanding of what lying and being honest really is. Once I got that out of the way I was ready to turn to the Bible and trust in God to reveal his thoughts about being Honest and living with Integrity through him!
There are numerous books and verses that deal with lying, honesty and living with integrity! The more I was reading the more I kept asking God for his direction with the topic; the more I kept turning to Proverbs! I have read certain parts of the book however it seems there are several verses that I was not familiar with!
I have comprised a few of the chapters and verses that really stuck with me on  how ‹[also why]› and the result of thereof!

Proverbs 2:20-22

20: That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21: For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22: But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Proverbs 12:17-25

17: He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
18: There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
19: The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20: Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21: There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22: Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23: A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24: The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25: Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

Proverbs 19:1

1: Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Proverbs 19:5

5: A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

  1. The Psalms and Proverbs are 2 books that have so much wisdom on just about anything. Unfortunately they are the 2 books I read the least. I’ve always struggled to fully understand them, and would much rather read the chronicles of the Kings and the Gospels. Thanks for sharing these!
